Android and iOS
This update is for both Android and iOS devices. So there is no difference between our app on an Android phone or an iPhone.
Demo mode
It is now possible to add demo devices that allow users to see all the features without actually being connected to a flushplate.
This functionality was added to A) help TechSupport remotely guide customers through the app and B) enable Sales to demonstrate app functionality anywhere.
The main benefits are:

You don’t require a powered Buddy flushplate

You won’t experience issues due to bad Bluetooth connection

The app is very responsive, shows no lag

TechSupport can perfectly see which settings are available for each signal adapter
Enabling the demo device, can be done in the diagnostics tab (4th hidden tab). This implies that to activate this feature, a connected flushplate is required. However, once the feature is activated, the demo devices stay in place.
Enable/disable 'Manual maintenance'
In order to tackle the issue of the accidentaly activated cleaning mode, we provided the option to disable the manual activation of ‘cleaning mode’ and ‘manual calibration' with the use of the app.
The ‘Manual maintenance’ button can be found in the settings tab (3rd tab), Maintenance section, right above cleaning mode
By default the toggle is in the on position (so that calibration of the Buddy can be done without the app). When the button is switched to the off position, you can’t activate cleaning mode and manual calibration on the Buddy plate directly anymore.
Transfer settings
Because large locations, for instance, like to set the settings and preferences the same for all their Buddy devices, we have provided a Transfer function that allows copying settings from one device to another.
All preferences (first tab) and all settings (third tab, except device name and firmware) can be copied when connecting to a Buddy device. When connecting to another device, these settings can be set on this device.
The transfer settings can be found in the third tab of the app.
Smart Detect & Dual Flush ambiguity
Until now, it was possible to activate Smart Detect in the app while Dual Flush was deactivated. Since Smart Detect only works when Dual Flush is also activated in the app, it seemed like this feature did not always work.
The design and behavior of the buttons has been modified to make their interrelationship clearer.
Remove all devices
When you have multiple saved devices in your app, you can now easily clear the whole list. This is especially useful for TechSupport, Sales & Production who often have to connect to new devices (for troubleshooting, demonstrations or manual FW updates).
How to do it:

Swipe left on a device you’d like to remove

On the bottom of the screen a button appears: ‘Remove all devices’. Tap this one!
Factory reset improvement
In previous versions, clicking on “Factory Reset” did not ask for confirmation, creating the risk of the reset being performed accidentally.
Now, there’s a popup screen that asks for confirmation.
Language support
The app's backend has been modified to display more languages. This functionality is integrated to meet the needs of our OEM customers (OLI needs Spanish, Italian and Portuguese).
However, the IPEE app does not display these new languages. Which languages are displayed is configured per OEM app.
Design improvement
There have been multiple subtle design improvements to increase usability and experience.
