IPEE Buddy

1. Manual flush

A manual flush can be performed at any time, by holding your hand in front of the (bottom ToF). If autoflush has already detected usage, the suggested flushing volume can be confirmed or overwritten in the same way.

Step 1

Hold your hand in front of the sensor (5 – 20cm) briefly. A circle will gradually fill up.

If ‘Dual flush’ is enabled in the app (default), you can manually choose between a small and full flush volume.

Step 2

To flush a small volume, pull away your hand once you see a half circle (representing a small flush). To flush a large volume, pull away your hand once you see a full circle (representing a full flush).

Step 3

The toilet flushes with the selected flush volume. In case ‘Dual flush’ is disabled in the app, any trigger will result in a full flush.

If IPEE Buddy is fitted with a Spectre sensor, it is able to detect cloggings and prevent the toilet from overflowing.

Whenever Spectre detects a clogging, it prevents Buddy to flush. IPEE Buddy warns the user of the clog by displaying a red circle. As long as a clogging is detected, the toilet will not flush (not automatic, nor manual).

2. Cleaning mode

Whilst cleaning or performing maintenance, the autoflush and manual flush can be disabled for 5 minutes. This can be done either with the IPEE app or manually on the Buddy flush plate.

Step 1

To activate cleaning mode, hold your hand right above the LED circle, right in front of the flush plate. The circle will glow up in white.

Step 2

Once you see a yellow circle, pull away your hand completely.

Step 3

Cleaning mode is now activated. After 5 minutes the flush plate returns to normal operation.

Alternatively, you can quit cleaning mode early by repeating the same steps.

3. Calibration

In case your system is fitted with Spectre, calibrating the sensor is required for precise usage detection. You can start the calibration process with the IPEE app or directly on the IPEE Buddy flush plate.

Step 1

Hold your hand right above the LED circle, right in front of the flush plate. The circle will glow up in white .

Step 2

Keep your hand in place when the LED circle turns yellow.

Step 3

Keep your hand in place when the LED circle turns white again.

Step 4

Once you see an orange circle, pull away your hand completely.

Step 5

The calibration sequence has started. This process usually takes 20 to 60 seconds.

Step 6

When the calibration has succeeded, a green smiley will be shown at the end of the sequence.

4. Factory reset

Whenever the system is not functioning properly, it is advised to perform a factory reset. Factory reset can be activated with the IPEE app or manually on the flush plate itself.

Step 1

To perform a factory reset, the system must be temporarily disconnected from power. Unfix the Buddy flush plate by loosening the set screw at the bottom.

Step 2

Dismount Buddy from the fixation bracket.

Step 3

Cover both sensors until the logo turns green. This takes approximately 30s.

Step 4

Within 10s, disconnect the Buddy flush plate from the power supply by
unplugging it (while the logo is still green).

Step 5

Remount Buddy on the fixation bracket.

Step 6

Fixate Buddy by tightening the set screw
